    I've been STRUGGLING with a gelding that has evidently had some trauma with his former owners. He is FEARFUL of everything, has complete meltdowns. I was ready to give up, and I came across this video. I took notes and studied and watched this video 5 times, and decided This is what my gelding needed. So this afternoon I did it. It got pretty western but he finally laid down. I was finally able to remain calm through the whole thing. I walked up to him and sat with him for a good 20 minutes ( he didn't flinch) I finally got up and asked him to join me. And he got up and it was like he completely did a 180. it was amazing. To top the whole thing off, when I put him back in his stall he allowed me to pet his face and neck without shying away like he always has for the last several months... Thank you for making this video and giving me hope again

    As someone who has trained and bred purebred arabian horses for over 30 years, THIS is shameful ignorant and disgusting behaviour from this pathetic human!! YOU are NOT a trainer!! YOU are an embarrassment to all horseman and should be banned from touching any horses!! Absolutely disgraceful!!!

  • @Equineeducation77
    @Equineeducation77 21 день назад

    "I DONT THINK she has a round pen...." less than a minute later "this IS new to him.... he has NEVER been round penned"...... funny when he moved off good you were certain it was his first time, but when you didnt know how he was going to react.... you were not sure and you THOUGHT.... tell us.... we folks just learning from ya..... what made you certain after he moved off pretty well "considering" that he never done it before!?!?!?

  • @Equineeducation77
    @Equineeducation77 21 день назад

    Lol..... why didnt you show what you went through to get the rope around the horses neck?😂

    "Again, a 30 foot rope is a good thing"...... nah a good thing would be to first establish a connection with the horse then second, get your a$$ back there with the horse and let him trust in you that its safe to go WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • @Equineeducation77
    @Equineeducation77 21 день назад

    So....... you have a horse with no fondation, or connectiin to you that you are using your saddle horse to TOW him out of the round pen..... did i get that right? My question is why...... *sigh* i have many questions.... i guess at this point in asking..... what the heck did you do the last 8 days!?!?!?

  • @cc34945

    Thanks for a reminder about why at the end time of my life why I still have my horses.

  • @Equineeducation77
    @Equineeducation77 22 дня назад

    This horse has ZERO foundation yet you are still trying to build on the mess that is there, and hoping it holds..... that is not the answer! I FEEL "based on only what you showed in video 1" you should have started as if this was a wild colt you just found in your round pen one day...... how fast you go through the laying of the Fondation is up to the horse, but I feel like you skipped several "I will list them if you ask" steps that are critical in the building of a solid human:equine partnership....... but hey what do I know. I'm just here to learn.

  • @Equineeducation77
    @Equineeducation77 22 дня назад

    @1:42...... woah...... wait a minute...... pretty sure in ep 2 "which was actually lesson3. But for obvious reasons, you didn't post it" you said you "attempted to lung him, and he pretty much just tried to kick kick me......" but now you say he never tried to kick you "not even once" never mind the question of why you were trying to lung a horse you clearly had not established any kind of control over its feet...... why just a video ago did you say "he pretty much just tried to kick me the whole time: but now are saying "he never...... not even once...." did you forget what you said!?!? The beauty of being honest, people don't forget the truth.

    Ive tried this two days in a row with my almost three year old filly. We didnt get her down. She crashed into a panel and cut under her jaw. I ended the session by holding her foot up some more and doing some groundwork exercises she knows well. She is an absolute doll. Really doing well in her groundwork. She is super respectful, BUT we decided to try this because she at times is still fearful of me. Ive done a whole lot of groundwork exercises to get rid of it. Ive also slept in her stall. She is confident and calm in her surroundings. But fearful at times of people. We prepared to try this for the last week. Getting her used to her feet and legs being tied. Leading by the feet. Giving to the pressure. Anyway i dont know if I have the strength to put enough pressure on the rope. I had my husband help me and she went crashing around the round pen. He tried but his timing might be off. Cut under her jaw. Im scared if I have ruined her by trying something traumatic and failing to show her what im asking. I dont know of we should keep trying? Whst would yoi say?
